OUR BEHAVIOUR NOWADAYS

 Don't see, don't tell, and don’t hear.

triple monkeysss

Nowadays, when we saw any things wrong, or anything is not fair for other people, we will only do the action--doesn't see, don't tell and don't hear. From the concept of “Everybody does it”, every single people parties this, then I should do it also. It is normal to do these things in our life, like somehow, somewhere, we always see some people cheating or acting unethically. But most of the time, we will pretend have not seen it because of don't want to get trouble from the case. Why people using these excuses to avoid forget trouble in our life? Is that we all selfish, have we ever think of the people that will get hurt from the unethical participation?
That day, it was very early morning; I was sit inside the car for going school. I saw guy that snatching the woman's hand bag. Nearby was some shop, there aren't not people to stop it, but most of the people are in the car jam, who will actually help?
Helping the neighbors in the Malay Kampung are easily to see, but have you seen the people nowadays helping the neighbors in the condominium, or the residential area? I even don't know who is my condo neighbors, is a he or her, and is old or young. The interaction of the people are much lesser than old days, because of the technology, the people often communicate via technology. Even siblings, helping and gathering are not often. How about the community?

The unethical behavior is start from the lack of caring our community and families. The lesser caring about the community, the people will have the unethical behavior that they don't want to think of other feeling. If they think "if I do so, how the people react", "if the victim were I, what I were feel." These thought will prevent the people acting unethically, because they have try to stand in others people shoes to think about their feeling. Everyone doesn’t like to be cheated, but everyone does cheat to people. This theory applies to the unethical behavior also. In the business environment, if the unethical producer think before producing the unethical product such as the hair-soy-souse, the reused oil. These foods are for people to eat, the producer might also eat the same things into their stomach. If they have ever thought what and how if they are the victim, they may think twice to do the unethical business.

the hardest decision that i have made is to choose what to eat for dinner!!!
We will forget what we want to choose, the best choice to us, or the right things to us?
In our life, these choices are not easy to make decision because the ethical choices are lesser benefit for us and it is not easy to do it. The Coercion Myth: “I have no choice!” the situation only allowed to do this, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS BEING A BETTER CHOICE THAT YOU HAVE MADE!!!

Consequentialism or “It Worked Out for the Best”, sometimes, the unethical behavior are excused as the best choice that we can made. BUT, IT IS REALLY THE ONLY AND ONE CHOICE WE CAN MAKE? I have seen some times in the hall, somebody asking the answer from the invigilator, but the invigilator actually answers his question because he has a nice face. I have seen someone bringing the note inside to the hall, and go toilet often. Why the invigilator not stopping the convocation?

Actually, that time, someone rise up his hand and stop the conversation of the inveigler and the people. The Futility Illusion: “If I don’t do it, somebody else will.” Here comes another situation for us, if we don’t voice out the mistake, who will voice the mistake to the public? Many of us have this though that it is not my responsibility to find out the mistake and tell others. Hamm’s Excuse: “It wasn't my fault.” It is not my fault to not telling out the unethical behavior that acts by the people.

The Perfection Diversion: “Nobody’s Perfect!” or “Everybody makes mistakes!” So we should keep quiet that let the unethical behavior continue and let them go with the wind? Of course every people make mistake. BUT THE MISTAKE CAN GO VERY BIG IF YOU NOT VOICE IT OUT!!! The Comparative Virtue Excuse: “There are worse things.” The unethical behaviors I have made are not cause damage of the people, so is that the unethical behavior is ethical then?
The Tortoise’s Pass: “Better late than never”. We can voice the unethical behavior out after we get the bonus, or after retired. The tough of “better late than never” make a very serious mistake that help the unethical behavior go along, some people will assume that their unethical behavior that since ethical that no people said it is unethical.
